Anthony Joshua Released from Medical Facility in Lagos Following Fatal Car Crash

The British boxer Anthony Joshua has been released from care, officials in Lagos stated on Wednesday evening. The fighter was involved in a car accident near Lagos on December 29th, a devastating event that resulted in the deaths of two of his team members.

Recovering from Minor Injuries

The boxer had been under observation while recuperating from non-critical injuries, his management team had said on Monday. The commissioner for information and strategy, Gbenga Omotoso, said in a statement on social media that Joshua was judged healthy enough to leave and heal privately.

“Anthony and his mother were at the mortuary in Lagos this afternoon to pay their final respects to his two friends who passed away as they were being readied to be sent home,” Omotosho said.

Honoring the Deceased

The victims of the crash were confirmed to be Latif Ayodele, a personal trainer, and Sina Ghami, a conditioning specialist. The official further stated that the athlete was heartbroken and full of emotions over the passing of his two dear friends.”
