Chiefs Acknowledge Domestic Violence Claims Involving Wide Receiver Rashee Rice
The Kansas City Chiefs released a comment Wednesday night stating they have knowledge of domestic violence allegations circulated in social media posts by a ex-partner of wide receiver the athlete and had been in contact with the NFL.
The organization omitted the name of Rice specifically in their statement and said they would have “nothing more to add at this time”.

The woman, who likewise did not name Rice by name, shared a set of images on social media that seemed to depict signs of physical abuse. She did say the person involved was the father of her children, and it is known she has kids with Rice, whom the Chiefs drafted in the 2023 draft.

No official complaints were available in Overland Park, Kansas where the alleged abuse is said to have taken place.
Rice's Recent Off-Field Troubles
Rice was absent for the initial part of this season due to an league-mandated ban for his role in causing a crash on a Texas roadway that resulted in multiple people injured. He was given 30 days in jail and probationary supervision after pleading guilty to felony charges.
On the field, Rice concluded the season with 53 receptions for 571 receiving yards and five touchdowns as the Chiefs went with a losing record and failed to qualify for the postseason for the first time in a decade.
