Experience the Revamped Legendary Journey: This Complimentary Trial for Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined Arrives Shortly.

Enthusiasts looking forward to the arrival of Dragon Quest 7 Reimagined don't need to wait much longer. A free-to-play trial experience is set to become available on the seventh of January, offering a substantial taste into the game's opening hours. Notably, any progress achieved within this demo can be imported directly into the full game upon its subsequent debut.

More Than a Simple Remake: The Complete Transformation

This project constitutes a from-scratch reinterpretation of the iconic year 2000 JRPG, first released as Dragon Quest VII: Fragments of the Forgotten Past. Taking a significant step away from other series re-releases, like the recently released HD-2D iterations, this version embraces a striking 3D art style. Environments are designed to resemble intricate dioramas, with party members featuring a delightful toy-like look.

"Taking into account the 3DS version, the narrative was remained exceptionally extended. So we came to a decision that we wanted to condense the story, [and] make this experience for modern gamers."

Significant Mechanical Improvements and Updates

The creators have added several modernizations to refresh the original gameplay loop. Among these are:

  • Expedited Field Battles: Inspired by modern RPGs, low-level foes can now be defeated instantly on the overworld map eliminating the need for initiating a full traditional battle sequence.
  • Adjustable Combat Speed: Players can speed up battle sequences to rapidly get past simpler encounters.
  • New Job Mechanics: A brand new vocation has been introduced for this remake. Additionally, party members now have the capacity to master a second vocation, significantly enhancing strategic possibilities.

Such alterations are aimed at tackle one of the 2000 game's most noted points of feedback: its considerable scope. That original main quest was known to take over 100 hours to complete. This new version has been expressly structured to improve pacing and cut down on any filler.
