Plane Transporting US Defense Secretary Required to Land in UK Due to Crack in Cockpit Window

A plane transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday after a crack was identified in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.

"The jet landed based on established safety measures and everyone onboard, including Pete Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson said in a public statement.

The secretary was coming back from a short visit to the Belgian capital at the time.

This incident is not the first time that a US military aircraft transporting a senior official has encountered mechanical issues.

In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft ferrying the US Secretary of State to Munich was required to return to the US capital after encountering a mechanical problem.
