The Streaming Platform to Bring a Far Cry TV Show from the Minds of the Alien Series and It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia.

The latest action-packed instalment that gamers dived into was Far Cry 6, which starred Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the bad guy, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. In the game universe, it is known for delighting in action and mayhem with equal enthusiasm, all while weaving captivating, politically driven narratives. Little surprise that FX's decision for a Far Cry anthology series attracted two creators whose work have exemplified all of those elements.

Show Details

Based on Ubisoft's hit video game franchise, the self-contained anthology series will stream on Hulu and be produced by FX Productions. The series will also mirror the video games' format by having a new backdrop and ensemble in each season.

Creative Minds

Rob Mac, mastermind of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the talent behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will serve as lead producers on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be accompanied by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

“FX has had magnificent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a collective six series and 32 seasons of television, and we are overjoyed that they are joining forces for Far Cry,” commented Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a statement. “I have no doubt that they will tell this story in a way that is innovative, gripping, and extremely entertaining. We also want to thank our collaborators at Ubisoft for placing confidence in us with this cherished property.”

Cast and Future Plans

Mac will also appear in the show, but as of now, we do not know what character that could be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was not long ago greenlit for more episodes, with FX and Disney agreeing to a new comprehensive agreement with the producer.

“Being able to collaborate with Noah Hawley is a dream realized,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably generous, trusting us with one of the most renowned video-game universes ever created. And throughout this process, my FX team constantly supports me with their steady confidence and backing.”

“What I love about the Far Cry game franchise is that it’s an anthology series. Every title is a variation of a concept, the same way each season of Fargo is a adaptation on a story,” explained Hawley. “To produce a large-scale action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always examining the essence of people through this complex and chaotic lens, is a dream come true. I’m excited to work with Rob and present our mutual unconventional, ambitious sensibility to the audience.”

A time frame for when we can look forward to the new Far Cry show has remains undisclosed. The series will premiere on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
